100 Bullets may be over, but the story of its most sadistic monster isn’t.

The murderous Lono, left for dead in the last issue of writer Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso’s 100-chapter Vertigo Comics crime series, is alive and well — and has even found God — in the new eight-issue miniseries Brother Lono, debuting Wednesday.

Azzarello doesn’t consider it a sequel to 100 Bullets, the 1999-2009 noir epic revolving around the enigmatic Agent Graves and the ammo he gives those yearning for revenge. However, it was relatively easy to get back into this violent universe of characters after spending 10 years immersed in it.
